About the role
Reporting into the Room Service Manager, you will be responsible for preparing food and beverage orders, delivering trolleys and trays to guests in their rooms according to standards as per HACCP system. You will be placing food and beverage amenities to the guests’ rooms, collecting trolleys and trays from rooms in a timely manner. You will be supporting the Chef de Rang Room Service as needed in describing the food and beverage selection to our guests by offering interesting and vivid descriptions of each item’s origin, taste and preparation methods.
What you will do
* Deliver food orders including any special needs or requests to the guest inroom; check completed kitchen orders with the order taker or guest’s original order; transport items to the guest’s room in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.
* Greet guests, describe selected items to the guest using interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item’s origin, taste and preparation methods; communicate options for removal of trays and dishware; respond to request for tray removal according to established time standards.
* Breakdown, clean and setup of room service tables, condiment setups, flatware, dishware, and room service side stations.
* Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
* Properly and accurately close guest checks securing room number and signature; properly settle voided checks or complimentary meals.
What you bring
* High School education or equivalent experience.
* Minimum one year food service or related work.
* Attention to detail, strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, the ability to multitask with excellent organizational skills, be a team player and bring your personal touch and energy to all our InRoom Dining experiences.
* Ability to carry and balance a tray
* English language and other languages are appreciate

Schedule & Hours:
* This is a fulltime position
* The candidate must have a flexible schedule and work also on weekends and holidays.
This position is based at the San Domenico Palace in Taormina and the contract is seasonal. You must possess the legal right to work in Italy.
